Departments
The Department of Plastic Surgery has adopted a new organizational structure and made a fresh start as of fiscal year 2026.
Dr. Saito, who has been appointed as the chief department head, has performed numerous surgeries for congenital hand and foot disorders at Kyoto University Hospital. At Kitano Hospital, he will continue to focus on treating children's hands, fingers, and feet, as well as providing medical care for hand and finger disorders in adults.
We have installed the latest X-ray fluoroscopy equipment specifically for hand surgery in our operating room. High-definition images support more precise surgeries, such as when performing osteotomies on a baby's tiny fingers.
Our hospital has a very well-equipped pediatrics department. With the support of our pediatrics team, we can safely perform imaging tests even for congenital hand disorders involving malformations of muscles, tendons, and joints.
We now have an environment in place to provide safe and advanced surgical procedures. Our hospital is easily accessible by Shinkansen (bullet train) and from the airport, which we believe will reduce the burden of commuting for patients from far away.
Plastic surgery is a medical specialty that aims to restore lost tissue and function.
This field primarily deals with tissues on the body's surface, extending from the skull to the face, trunk, and limbs. The causes of tissue loss and functional impairment are diverse, including trauma, burns, surgical complications, malignant tumors, and congenital diseases. Our hospital specializes in hand surgery and facial surgery.
We will do our utmost to bring back smiles to the faces of not only the local community, but everyone throughout Japan.
We are currently preparing this.
