Palliative Care Center

Palliative care is an important form of care that aims to ease the suffering and pain of patients and their families with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and heart failure. In the wards and outpatient clinics, we work with the patient's doctor to alleviate their symptoms, and we provide support through a multidisciplinary team to help them achieve their hopes and live the life they deserve. We also work closely with the rehabilitation team, nutritional support team, and local medical staff, so please feel free to contact us with any concerns you may have.

Furthermore, medical expertise is often required during recuperation, and many patients are left wondering, "What should I do?" We will provide easy-to-understand information and help patients make important decisions regarding their lifestyles, not only during treatment but also when transitioning to palliative care-centered medical care and at the important time of closing their lives, while helping them come to terms with their feelings.

Patients, their families, and medical professionals should think together about what they can do to live a meaningful life, and work together to put into action what they can do.

The role of palliative care centers

  1. Our multidisciplinary medical team provides specialized care to alleviate holistic pain (physical and mental pain, and spiritual suffering), aiming to improve quality of life in accordance with the wishes of patients and their families.
  2. We provide easy-to-understand medical information to facilitate medical communication with the patient's doctor in each department, and we offer comprehensive psychosocial support such as nursing counseling and life conferences (advance care planning), helping patients make decisions and realize their hopes for a fulfilling life.
  3. As a community-based palliative care center, we provide support for home care in close cooperation with local medical and nursing care staff.
