November 14th of each year is World Diabetes Day. It was established by the World Health Organization (WHO) to coincide with the birthday of Frederick Banting, the discoverer of insulin. It is an important opportunity to raise awareness around the world about the importance of diabetes prevention and continued treatment, and awareness-raising events such as blue light-ups are held around Japan around this day.
I hope that you will take this opportunity to learn about and think about diabetes, together with yourself, your family, and your loved ones.
Every year, our hospital holds an event called "World Diabetes Day @ Medical Research Institute Kitano Hospital" on this day.
