In order to realize our philosophy of being "a hospital that puts patients first and gives them peace of mind," Medical Research Institute Kitano Hospital provides patients with sufficient explanations and information, and provides high-quality, appropriate, and safe medical care that is achievable at our hospital.
In order to carry out safety management and ensure the safety management system at our hospital, we have established a "Medical Safety Management Office." Under the "Medical Safety Management Office," we have established a "Medical Safety Management Committee" consisting of representatives from various committees related to medical safety, which will be responsible for safety management across the organization. Furthermore, in order to establish a system to promote accident prevention efforts in the medical field, we have appointed a "Risk Manager" to play a central role and established a "Risk Manager Conference" to oversee his/her work.
In order to ensure safety management, we collect a wide range of incident and accident cases, formulate improvement measures based on investigation and analysis, and evaluate the implementation status of those measures. In addition, we investigate the causes of accidents based on adverse event reports, consider countermeasures, and take all possible measures to prevent recurrence.
In the event of a serious complication or accident occurring to a patient, we will make every effort to save the patient's life and ensure their recovery, while providing sufficient information to the patient and their family. We will also promptly grasp and organize the facts and establish a "Case Review Committee" as appropriate. Furthermore, if necessary, we will report the incident to external organizations and make it public in accordance with our hospital regulations.
The "Patient Consultation Desk" is the main system for responding to inquiries from patients, but if a patient directly requests consultation or complaints, the desk that receives the request will respond, respecting the patient's wishes. Opinions, inquiries, and complaints from patients will also be used to review safety measures and strive to improve operations.
To ensure that all staff members actively promote medical safety, we will provide opportunities for self-improvement through various means, such as holding safety management training sessions at least twice a year.
In order to ensure that all staff members can share the information necessary for safe medical care, we will strive to ensure that information is widely disseminated by providing it through a variety of media, and to foster cross-organizational collaboration.
In order to raise awareness of medical safety, we will prepare and disseminate a "Medical Safety Management Manual," and will review and revise its contents as necessary.
When providing medical care using highly advanced new medical technologies, we will refer to the guidelines provided by relevant academic societies.
