There are many diseases of the breast, but for patients, the biggest concern is whether or not it is breast cancer. In our breast surgery department, we utilize mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and other techniques to quickly and accurately perform imaging diagnosis. When breast cancer is suspected, we use ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration cytology, mammotome biopsy, and needle biopsy to make a definitive diagnosis and determine whether or not it is breast cancer as quickly as possible. A rapid and accurate diagnosis allows us to immediately begin optimal treatment if it is breast cancer. We also classify breast cancers into four groups through pathological examination of tissue removed during surgery, and determine the appropriate postoperative adjuvant therapy for each group to prevent recurrence. We are also considering diagnostics that take genetic testing into account in the future.
