Emergency Department

Sudden illness or injury can cause great pain and anxiety to the patient, even if it is not serious. To ensure that such patients can visit the hospital at any time with peace of mind, our emergency department has an emergency medical system in place 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. While emergency departments are generally thought of as medical departments that only see seriously ill patients, in fact, only about 20% of all emergency outpatient visits are seriously ill, with the remaining 80% having mild or moderate symptoms. Furthermore, two-thirds of all patients come to the hospital on their own without using an ambulance.

For patients, the emergency department is a medical department that is prepared for emergencies, like a "cane you can rely on first when you are about to fall." However, there are cases where patients endure symptoms for too long, and as a result, by the time they are taken to the emergency room, their condition has already become serious. Do not hesitate or endure the symptoms thinking that it is not serious enough to go to the emergency room, but make sure to visit the hospital as early as possible.

Requests when visiting the emergency department

If you wish to visit our hospital, please be sure to call us in advance. We always make efforts to make sure that our patients can visit us with peace of mind, but there are still situations where we are overwhelmed with seriously ill patients and are unable to see any more patients, or where you have to wait a long time before being seen, where our specialist doctors are busy, where an emergency surgery is required but an operating room cannot be secured, or where the hospital rooms are full and there are no rooms available for admission.
In such cases, you may be referred to another hospital, so please be sure to call us to confirm whether treatment is available.

*Ritalin (methylphenidate hydrochloride), a drug used to treat narcolepsy and depression, is not available in the emergency room.
