Support for the safe and proper conduct of clinical trials

pharmacistKaminoyamaUenoyamaKazuyaKazuya Pharmacy Department

After working as a pharmacist in charge of the wards, I moved to the Clinical Trial Management Center within the Pharmacy Department. Clinical trials are tests conducted to confirm the effectiveness of new drugs and treatments, and I am in charge of all clinical trial-related work within the hospital, from managing and dispensing investigational drugs to explaining and guiding patients to take them. This work is similar to the new drug development I wanted to do as a student, and I find it rewarding to be able to work closely with patients.

What makes me happiest is being able to provide patients with an opportunity to have an additional initial treatment or treatment option, and playing a role in passing on to future generations the noble aspirations of patients who participate in clinical trials, hoping to help others who suffer from the same disease as them in the future.

On my days off, I refresh myself by playing tennis, a sport I've been playing since my school days. My current dream is to play doubles matches with my wife when my two daughters are older. Just as I have something to look forward to in the future, I hope to continue to shine a light of hope on the future of patients, the future of my daughters, and the future of medicine through clinical trials.
