Careers
The Kitano Hospital Pediatrics and Obstetrics/Gynecology Program is a program that focuses on pediatric and obstetrics/gynecology training for those who aim to become specialists in pediatrics or obstetrics/gynecology.
In the first year, students are required to study six months of internal medicine, three months of emergency medicine (two months of emergency medicine and one month of anesthesiology), one month of anesthesiology, and two months of pediatrics or obstetrics and gynecology. In the second year, students are required to study five months of pediatrics or obstetrics and gynecology (out of a total of seven months of pediatric and obstetrics and gynecology training in the first and second years, five months of pediatrics and two months of obstetrics and gynecology in the pediatrics program, and two months of pediatrics and five months of obstetrics and gynecology in the obstetrics and gynecology program), one month of gastroenterological surgery, one month of community medicine, one month of psychiatry, one month of intensive care, and three months of elective training. Over the two years, students will acquire the basic primary care skills required of a physician, which is the goal of initial training, and will also focus on learning basic knowledge and techniques in the fields of pediatrics or obstetrics and gynecology, building a foundation for future pediatric or obstetrics and gynecology residencies.
