The most commonly performed clinical test is the "specimen test."
The collected blood is promptly taken to the laboratory.
As it cannot be inspected as is, it is processed in different ways depending on the purpose.

Why is centrifugation necessary?
When blood is centrifuged, it is separated into layers such as serum, plasma, and blood cells based on differences in specific gravity. These layers are used in biochemical tests using serum and plasma to check for organ abnormalities and diseased areas, tumor markers, and coagulation tests to check blood clotting.

What does the sample test check?
Blood tests analyze the components in the blood and evaluate conditions such as liver function, kidney function, infection, anemia, diabetes, etc. Common items include white blood cell count, red blood cell count, hemoglobin content, liver function tests, and blood sugar levels.
Analyzer
After testing with the analyzer, if there are no abnormal values, they are recorded in the patient's chart and promptly communicated to the doctor.

Microscopy
If abnormal values are found, a specimen is prepared and examined under a microscope.

Blood culture testing
The pathogen is cultured in a medium, and results may be available the next day, or it may take up to two months.
