In-hospital nursery school
Regular childcare/temporary childcare
We have an in-hospital nursery for those returning to work after maternity or childcare leave, offering regular childcare, temporary childcare, nighttime childcare, and childcare for sick children. It is available to staff of Kitano Hospital. It is located on the third floor of the new Kitano Hospital building.

About temporary childcare
This service is available to staff who use a nursery other than Kitano Hospital Nursery School when, for special reasons (such as a natural disaster), it is difficult for them to attend their usual nursery school.
- The usage fee is 2,000 yen per session.
Meals (including snacks) cost an additional 400 yen per day.
- Please make a reservation in advance and submit the "Nursery School Application and Pledge Form."
- Applications must be made at least 3 days in advance.
- Once you reach 10 monthly usages, you will be treated as a regular childcare user.

Staff who use the on-site or off-site nursery can use this facility if they are working overnight shifts at the hospital on the same day.

- The maximum capacity is 6 people.
- Advance registration (first time only) is required at the Human Resources Department.
- Reservations must be made at the Human Resources Department each time you use the facility.
(Reservations for the 1st to 15th of the month are due by the 15th of the previous month. Reservations for the 16th to 31st of the month are due by the end of the previous month.)
- Please submit the "Nursery School Application and Pledge Form."
Sick child care
Our hospital positions its childcare as one that "provides support so that children's illness does not interfere with their ability to work." We take care of children who are able to be cared for, from the early stages of illness through to the recovery stage, in the sick child care room attached to the nursery on the third floor of the new building.
- Advance registration is required at the Personnel Department. Please complete the registration procedure at the same time as enrolling your child in the nursery school.
- When applying to the Personnel Department, please submit the "Nursery School Sick Child Care Registration Form."
- The facility is limited to six people per day. Because it is on a first-come, first-served basis, it may be full and unavailable during peak seasons such as cold seasons. In case you are unable to use the facility, we recommend registering with other nearby facilities.

Target illnesses and range of recovery periods
- Common illnesses that children suffer from on a daily basis, such as colds and infectious gastroenteritis
- Regarding the acceptance of infectious diseases
Infectious symptoms such as measles, whooping cough, tuberculosis, and EKC (epidemic keratoconjunctivitis) are not covered.
Influenza, norovirus, and rotavirus cases will be cared for in a shared room.
- Chronic illnesses such as asthma *Excluding acute phases. When the condition is stable but there is anxiety about group living and rest is required.
- Children recovering from illness *When children are in the recovery stage but are still anxious about group activities and need to rest
- Chronic or traumatic illnesses

Usage flow
Regardless of your occupation, you can make a reservation anytime after 8:00 a.m. the day before use.
Telephone reservation
Make a reservation by phone at the following number:
During the opening hours of the sick child care center (8:30am - 6:00pm)
→Go to the sick child care center (PHS 6304)
Sick Child Daycare Room closes (18:00) - 8:30am
→ After-hours reception (06-6312-1221)
Please provide the following information when booking:
- Your child's name, gender, and age
- Symptoms (possibility of airborne infection to the extent known)
- Allergies: If you have allergies, you will need to bring your own lunch.
- Parent's name
- Parental contact information (cell phone/hospital extension)
- Estimated arrival time
Filling out documents
Fill out the necessary information in the following documents

*The necessary documents are stored in the hospital records.

Submit documents to the after-hours reception desk and complete the reception
Bring the completed form to the after-hours reception desk
8:00 AM
Get triaged by a pediatrician
- In the emergency room, children will be triaged by a pediatrician before being admitted (if they have a fever or diarrhea, an antigen test will also be performed).
Note: If you cannot make it to the triage session starting at 8:00, you will have to wait until the end of the pediatric conference (around 9:00).
*If you use the service after the first morning triage, the triage location will be determined by the instructions of the pediatrician in charge of triage.
8:20 AM
Meeting with sick child care worker
- Meet with sick childcare staff in front of the Bring Your Own Medicine Management Center
- Moving to the new building with sick child staff
From 8:30am
Handover to a nursery teacher in the sick child care room
- Please hand over the following completed documents to the nursery teacher:
・Medical condition report ・Doctor report ・Medication request form ・Childcare diary
- If you bring your own medicine, please hand over only one dose to the nursery staff. (Please also bring one dose of liquid medicine in a separate container.)
- Your child's condition, other necessary information, etc.
Childcare in sick child care center
Daily schedule
8:30~ Relax in the room according to your physical condition. Morning nap according to your age and physical condition. Morning snack, hydration.
Around 11:30 Lunch and medicine Relax according to physical condition Afternoon sleep according to age and physical condition

If necessary, contact the sick child care center (6304) to check the situation.
We will contact you if there are any changes in your pet's condition. Please let us know if your pick-up time changes.
