Staff awareness and opinions

In order to create a comfortable working environment, we conduct employee awareness surveys through questionnaires. The data obtained is analyzed by experts, and the results are used to formulate the next committee's action guidelines.

Physician work survey (for all doctors)

This survey is conducted to understand the current situation of doctors working at Kitano Hospital, measure their satisfaction with the hospital as a "friendly place to work," and serve as a guide to whether the working environment and systems are in place. The committee's action guidelines are set based on the analysis of the accumulated data. Since 2008, the survey has been conducted annually, including questions about work-life balance.

Childcare support survey (for female doctors)

In May 2011, as part of the Working Group on Supporting Female Physicians, we conducted a questionnaire survey focused on childcare support.

2011 report

Number of surveys sent: 80 people, response rate: 42.5% (11 out of 15 people with children, response rate: 73.3%)

Questionnaire questions
  • Regarding the use of the in-hospital nursery school, regarding the use of an off-hospital nursery school, and regarding temporary childcare at the in-hospital nursery school
  • Regarding the use of in-hospital sick child care services and on-call
Survey results
  1. Our hospital publicizes its support for female doctors both domestically and internationally, and attracts many young female doctors, including SRs and residents.
  2. They have a strong desire to work, but many of them have no relatives nearby to rely on.
  3. Support is an essential system
  4. Some people want to prioritize their WLB and family life, and it is expected that an increasing number of people who have been forced to resign will take advantage of the part-time regular employee system.
  5. It is important to understand that various support systems for female doctors are options that individuals can use to continue working in the way they want, and that they are not forced to work.
  6. It is especially important for managers, especially direct superiors, to understand this, and it is necessary to continue to educate them in the future.
