Surgical anesthesia

Kitano Hospital's Department of Anesthesiology is characterized by its large number of cases, nearly 4,000 per year, and the wide variety of patients it can treat, from newborns to the very elderly.It is also a general hospital with 30 departments, including neurosurgery, thoracic surgery, pediatric surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, and cardiovascular surgery, so students can experience all the cases necessary for anesthesiology training.

As of 2022, the teaching system consists of 11 full-time specialists (including supervising physicians), 3 intensive care specialists, 3 certified pediatric anesthesiologists, and 2 cardiovascular anesthesiologists, allowing students to receive sufficient instruction that makes the most of their respective fields of expertise.

intensive care

Our hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) is primarily run by intensive care specialists from the Department of Anesthesiology, allowing students to learn about intensive care, including in-hospital emergency care and postoperative management.

Our hospital is a facility certified by the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine and the Japanese Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiology (scheduled for autumn 2022), and it is also possible to obtain specialist certification in subspecialty areas.

clinical research

Due to the revision of the Personal Information Protection Act, retrospective research may become difficult at some medical institutions, but our hospital is a research institute with an attached research institute, so there are no such restrictions.In order to acquire specialist qualifications, we actively encourage clinical research and presentations at academic conferences.

Our clinic is within walking distance of JR Osaka Station and Hanshin/Hankyu Umeda Station. Therefore, it is possible to commute from various places such as Kyoto, Kobe, and Nara. We have a strict on-call system, so once you go home, you will not be called in again. You can go home immediately after your shift ends.
