About Us
The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is creating data (DPC data) that will be collected and managed by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for the purpose of assessing the impact of the introduction of the DPC system and reviewing the DPC system in the future.
In addition, we prepare a medical fee statement (receipt) for medical expenses to be billed to the review and payment agency.
DPC data consists of information from medical records and medical fee statements, while prescription data consists of information on medical institutions, insurers, medical procedures, pharmaceuticals, and specific equipment.
By utilizing DPC data and prescription data, it is possible to improve the quality of medical care and hospital management, so we provide the anonymized data to third parties.
This data provided to third parties does not include names, addresses, or telephone numbers. However, because it is necessary to analyze regional trends and age groups of patients, it only includes postal codes (first three digits only), dates of birth (converted to date of birth and age at time of hospitalization, with those 100 years or older grouped together as 100 years old), and information on various insurance cards includes only insurer numbers (numbers indicating the respective operators of health insurance businesses).
As mentioned above, our hospital creates anonymous processed information from the medical information room (on a monthly basis) and provides it to third parties.
After encrypting the data, it will be uploaded to a server operated and managed by the recipient, or sent via mail on an external recording medium.
The anonymized information created will be promptly deleted after being provided to a third party, and will not be stored or used by our hospital.
For inquiries regarding the creation of anonymously processed information at our hospital and its provision to third parties, please contact us via the Kitano Hospital Inquiries page.
