Request to hospitalized patients regarding hospital bed use
As an acute care hospital and designated emergency hospital, we provide specialized medical care for serious illnesses and emergency care. As a public interest incorporated foundation, we make the following requests in order to allow as many patients as possible to use our hospital beds. Please be aware of this in advance.
- When you make a reservation for admission, we will ask you about your preferred hospital room, but depending on the availability of beds on the day of admission, we may not be able to prepare the type of room you requested.
- In order to accommodate seriously ill emergency patients, you may be asked to move to another room or ward after admission.
- If there are patients who are admitted urgently, they may enter the room at any time of the day or night, which may make the room feel a little noisy. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our hospitalized patients, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
- Depending on your condition after surgery, you may be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for management of your condition. In such cases, your original hospital room cannot be kept. Please also note that when you leave the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you may be placed in a room different from your original hospital room or ward.
- Once acute specialized treatment has been completed and the doctor has given permission for discharge or transfer to another hospital, please discharge or transfer as soon as possible. If necessary, a discharge coordination nurse or social worker will be available to assist you if necessary to make arrangements for your treatment at home or to transfer to a medical institution depending on your condition.
