How hospitalization costs are calculated

Hospitalization costs will be charged according to the self-pay rate of your health insurance and the provisions of the Health Insurance Act.
According to the Health Insurance Act, hospitalization days are calculated starting from midnight. Regardless of the time, if you are admitted past midnight, your hospitalization period will be counted as two days.

At our hospital, we strive to provide the best possible medical care after obtaining informed consent from our patients, but complications may occur at a certain frequency. Under the Japanese medical system, treatment for complications is covered by insurance, and as a general rule, patients will be required to pay for the costs themselves. We ask for your understanding.

About the Diagnosis Procedure Combination (DPC) System

As an acute care hospital, our hospital is designated as a hospital eligible for the Diagnosis Procedure Combination (DPC) system.
Under DPC, hospitalization medical expenses are calculated using a flat rate and a fee-for-service rate.

Regarding billing and payment of hospitalization expenses

Claims for hospitalization and room charges

Hospitalization fees and room charges will be billed monthly. The amount to be billed will be sent to the hospitalized patient in the form of a "Notice of Hospitalization Fees."

• Hospitalization fees and room charges will be billed on the 10th of the following month (subject to change if the month falls on a holiday).
• When you are discharged from the hospital, you will be billed on the day of discharge.

Payment of hospitalization expenses

We accept payment as follows:

• We accept credit card and debit card payments.
• When you leave the hospital, please settle your bill on the day of discharge.
  *If you are discharged on a day when the clinic is closed, we will generally settle your bill at a later date. Please settle your bill within one month of your discharge.
  (If you have a medical expense limit or have been given a bill by the hospital, please settle the bill on the day of discharge, even if you are discharged on a closed day.)
• The ATM is located in the convenience store on the first basement floor.

About creating a medical certificate

At our hospital, we accept requests for the creation of medical certificates, opinions, life insurance certificates, etc. at "④ Document Reception" on the first floor. If you would like to have one created, please apply directly at the document reception during the following hours.

*If you live far away and are unable to visit the hospital, we also accept applications by mail, so please inquire at the reception desk. In this case, please note that the patient will be responsible for the postage costs.
