The Pediatric Surgery Department will be closed on Friday, December 7th due to the absence of a pediatric surgeon.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
At the 16th Japanese Society of Endocrine Pathology held on October 11, 2012, Dr. Hisato Tatsuoka of our center received the Excellent Case Award.

Angina pectoris is a condition characterized by chest pain during exertion due to narrowing of the coronary artery lumen caused by coronary arteriosclerosis, which prevents sufficient blood from reaching the heart muscle. Current treatments for angina include drug therapy to slow the heart's activity, balloon therapy to dilate narrowed coronary arteries, and bypass surgery to connect the aorta and coronary arteries. However, each of these treatments has its limitations. For patients still suffering from angina, we offer "heparin accelerated bed therapy." This therapy alleviates and cures angina by developing a natural bypass ("collateral circulation") from another coronary artery to the inadequately supplied myocardium. Specifically, it involves intravenous heparin injection and patient recumbency on a mobile bed. At Kitano Hospital, we have been offering this therapy to patients since January 2007 with the approval of our ethics committee, and its effectiveness has already been demonstrated.
(Miyamoto S, et al: Effect on treadmill exercise capacity, myocardial ischemia, and left ventricular function as a result of repeated whole-body periodic acceleration with heparin pretreatment in patients with angina pectoris and mild left ventricular dysfunction. Am J Cardiol 107:168-74, 2011.)
Since its effectiveness in treating angina pectoris has also been demonstrated, we are now expanding our treatment to include patients with severe heart failure, arteriosclerosis obliterans, and pulmonary hypertension. We look forward to seeing anyone who is interested.

Kitano Hospital played a major role in the clinical development of the accelerated bed, whose main mechanism is to increase nitric oxide in the vascular endothelium, and numerous studies have demonstrated that it improves vascular endothelial function, prevents the progression of arteriosclerosis, and improves coronary artery blood flow reserve. The "accelerated bed therapy for heart failure" being implemented at Kitano Hospital is a groundbreaking treatment that is attracting worldwide attention, and is expected to be a boon to many patients suffering from heart failure.

The cardiac rehabilitation room has been completed.
Located on the 4th floor. Primarily for exercise therapy for cardiac patients. Ergometers, treadmills, and equipment for both arms and legs are also available.
There are also barbells for muscle training and ample space for stretching, with safety also taken into consideration.
We believe that primary and secondary prevention is extremely important for heart disease patients, and intend to give it an important role as part of cardiovascular treatment. Please look forward to his future success.

As a "CAPD Education and Training Medical Institution" certified by the Japanese Society of Peritoneal Dialysis, our hospital is accepting applications for a two-day education and training course in 2011 on the dates below.
The maximum number of participants is two, and we will adjust the number of participants accordingly. We appreciate your understanding if we cannot accommodate your request.
Characteristics of our hospital
Our hospital has established an information exchange network using the CKD regional collaboration path with the primary care physicians of patients with early-stage chronic kidney disease (CKD).We also utilize multidisciplinary kidney disease classes to provide support aimed at preventing the progression of CKD and improving quality of life if it does progress.
Our hospital's peritoneal dialysis department is a department that starts treating patients who have selected CAPD at stage 5 CKD, and operates alongside general nephrology outpatient services and hemodialysis. Catheter placement by urologists is often performed laparoscopically and is also compatible with SMAP.
A distinctive feature of our hospital's CAPD education and training program is that it includes time for discussions, including case studies. We hope you will join us.

Nephrology covers a wide range of areas, including nephritis, electrolyte imbalances, conservative chronic renal failure, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, apheresis, and kidney transplantation. Our hospital offers extensive experience with a wide range of cases across all of these areas. Regarding nephritis, we perform renal biopsies (approximately 100-150 cases per year) to diagnose and treat many cases, including chronic nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, collagen disease, and vasculitis. Regarding dialysis, we offer extensive experience with a wide range of cases, including dialysis initiation, outpatient maintenance dialysis management, management of hospitalized patients with dialysis complications, apheresis (plasma exchange, hemoperfusion, etc.), and peritoneal dialysis. We also provide vascular access creation and interventional therapy. Regarding kidney transplants, urology and nephrology work together as a team. While the number of kidney transplant cases is small, the nephrology department handles preoperative evaluation and long-term postoperative management, providing an opportunity to learn about transplantation.
If you are interested, please contact us. Let's work hard together.
