[Research content] Epidemiological study on cervical cancer treatment cases: Comparative study of age and prognosis for advanced cervical cancer
[Significance of the research] Cervical cancer cases are increasing among young people, but if we can understand that the prognosis of advanced cervical cancer differs by age, we can more appropriately develop preventative measures and treatment methods.
[Purpose of the study] To verify whether the prognosis of advanced cervical cancer differs by age.
[Research Method] A comparative study will be conducted based on the in-hospital cancer registry data for women who have been diagnosed with cervical cancer for the first time and received treatment at our obstetrics and gynecology department, and who meet certain conditions. If you would like to decline, please contact Sakakibara, Health Checkup Department (Tel: 06-6312-8831).

We will hold a kidney disease workshop to raise awareness of kidney disease.
Please bring your family along too.

[Research content] Epidemiological study on surgical cases of cervical cancer: Comparative study of "preoperative intra-arterial chemotherapy" for cervical cancer
[Significance of the research] If it is proven that the preoperative intra-arterial chemotherapy administered at our hospital improves the prognosis of cervical cancer, it could become one of the treatment options that takes into consideration women's quality of life.
[Purpose of the study] We will investigate whether preoperative intra-arterial chemotherapy is effective in improving the prognosis of cervical cancer.
[Research Method] We will conduct a comparative study based on in-hospital cancer registry data for patients who have undergone surgery for the first time after being diagnosed with cervical cancer at our obstetrics and gynecology department and who meet certain conditions. For those whose progress cannot be tracked, we will inquire about their resident registration with the respective city, town, or village.
If you wish to decline, please contact Sakakibara in the Health Checkup Department (Tel: 06-6312-8831).

Have you ever had blue lumps on your calves or felt fatigue in your legs?

Varicose veins

Human blood vessels consist of arteries that travel from the heart to the periphery and veins that return from the periphery to the heart. In the veins of the lower limbs, blood returns to the heart against gravity, thanks to the pumping action of the calf muscles and the valves in the veins. Varicose veins occur when these valves are damaged, allowing venous blood to flow backward, causing the veins to expand abnormally and become tortuous.

Natural history of varicose veins

Left: Typical varicose veins
Medium: Pigmentation
Right: Intractable skin ulcer

Symptoms

It is often seen in people who work standing up for long periods of time or who suffer from illnesses such as high blood pressure or heart failure. Some women develop the condition during pregnancy and experience gradual worsening thereafter. It typically manifests as a soft, bluish bump on the inside of the calf. Prolonged standing or walking can cause the legs to feel fatigued and require rest (intermittent claudication). As the condition worsens, dull brown pigmentation appears, and over time, sores and wounds (skin ulcers) can develop. These skin ulcers are extremely painful and do not improve easily even with ointment treatments, making them known as intractable skin ulcers. Surgery is strongly recommended for those with pigmentation or skin ulcers.

inspection

An ultrasound (echo) examination is used to check whether the venous valves that prevent blood from flowing backward are functioning properly. This examination is painless, as it simply involves applying a jelly and placing a probe called a probe. We also check the diameter of the veins and the time it takes for the blood to flow backward, which are used as indicators for selecting a treatment method. We can also check whether you have had deep vein thrombosis in the past or present. Angiography using tomography may also be performed to understand the overall condition of the blood vessels. This involves taking an MRI while an intravenous contrast agent is administered.

Kitano Hospital Pediatrics Department is recruiting pediatric staff members with six years or more of post-graduation experience to work primarily in the NICU starting in April 2015.

Our hospital has specialists in various fields of pediatrics, and currently has a large team of 27 full-time doctors, including trainees and staff.
There are approximately 3,000 pediatric admissions each year, of which 300 are admitted to the NICU. The NICU medical system is somewhat independent from the pediatrics department, with five to six doctors, including three medical residents, providing medical care.
Although there are only about 15 to 0 cases of extremely low birth weight babies each year, the hospital works closely with nearby obstetric facilities and receives about 100 newborns.
Our motto is to treat each case with care, make a thorough diagnosis, and formulate a treatment plan.We also put effort into promoting neonatal resuscitation techniques, and are particular about our teaching methods.

Due to spring personnel changes, we are actively recruiting staff to join us from April 2015.
Although NICU care will be the main focus, we will do our best to accommodate your requests, such as balancing it with general pediatric care and providing an on-call system.
I also welcome comrades who would like to accompany me to a traveling resuscitation training session with a resuscitation doll in hand.

If you are interested, please contact us.
Visitors are also welcome.

thank you.
