●Go to the Inpatient & Dismissal Support Station (1F).
●See here for a list of things you need as an inpatient.
●Go to ⑤ Inpatient Reception Counter (1F).
The application, preferred room, and hospital declaration will be explained and contact info will be confirmed.
●Be sure to visit the Inpatient & Dismissal Support Station (Pre-Existing Medication Mgmt). We will confirm pre-existing medication and consult a pharmacist.
Go even if you do not have pre-existing medication.
●Go to ⑤ Inpatient Reception Counter (1F). All admission paperwork will be handled and the ward will be introduced.

We offer our e-Rental Service, which lends out everyday items as needed (clothes, towels, daily goods, diapers).
To peruse, apply at the Inpatient Goods Rental Counter, Hospital B1F (Eikyu Co., Ltd.).
Applications can be made before or on the day of admission.
Visitation Procedures
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Visitation has been restricted due to the recent outbreak of the coronavirus to prevent infecting inpatients.
We apologize for the inconvenience but ask your cooperation in the matter.
Visitation Hours
Daily (Monday–Sunday) Between 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
*1: Note that any inquiry regarding inpatients cannot be answered by phone in accordance to the Personal Information Protection Law.

Visitation Procedures
At Kitano Hospital, names are not shown at the entrance of doorways to protect the privacy of our patients. First, check-in at reception.
Due to visitation reception hours, there are two reception counters.

- At reception, fill in all fields of the Visitation Badge, and get a Visitation Card. (patient’s name, visitor’s name, relationship, room entry time, room exit time, body temperature)
- When visiting, check-in at Visitation Reception and wear the Visitation Card around your neck.
- Those who have a fever, cough, or traveled overseas within the past 14 days are not allowed visitation.
- Attendants to an inpatient with arrangements must also wear the Visitation Card.
- We value all our patients at Kitano Hospital. To protect them from being infected, you may be denied visitation rights.
- Anyone with a fever, rash, diarrhea, pink-eye, or cold-like symptoms
- Anyone with a risk of being in contact with the above
- Anyone not vaccinated against measles, chicken pox, rubella, mumps or children with no medical history
- Anyone under the influence
- When leaving, return the Visitation Card to reception.
Note: Those who come by car, return the card at the parking lot exit. Visitors are eligible for a discount. - Patients who wish to limit visitation should talk to their supervising nurse.
- There is limited parking. We discourage visitors to come by bicycle.
Visiting Young Children
Young children (elementary school age and under) have weak immune systems, and visitation rights are generally restricted to prevent the risk of infection. We ask for your understanding and cooperation.
Visitation in Respective Wards
The Pediatrics Ward, Obstetrics Ward, ICU, HCU, and SCU all have different regulations established. Please follow each ward’s respective rules.
Hospitalization Fee
Calculating Hospitalization Fee
The Hospitalization Fee to be charged is based on the co-payment rate of your health insurance plan and provisions of the Health Insurance Law.
According to the Health Insurance Law, hospitalized days begin from midnight. Regardless of admitted time, hours with a midnight in between shall be considered 2 days of hospitalization.
The professionals at Kitano Hospital will attempt to provide the best care with informed consent from patients, but complications may occur from time to time. According to Japan’s health care system, the treatment of complications fall under health care services provided by health insurance, and in principle, you will be responsible for any related costs.
Diagnosis Procedure Combination (DPC)
Kitano Hospital has been designated an acute-care hospital and we can classify patients by the combination of diagnosis and procedures (DPC).
The Hospitalization Fee for DPC inpatients is calculated by adding fixed amounts to serviceable charges.
Hospitalization Fee Charge & Payment
Hospitalization & Room Charge
Hospitalization and room charges will be billed monthly. The billed amount will be delivered to the inpatient in a “Notice of Hospitalization Fees”.
- The bill will be sent on the 10th of each month and include all charges up to the last day of the previous month. (Subject to change if the 10th is a holiday)
- When discharging, the bill will be provided on the same day.
Hospitalization Fee Payment
- During Examination Hours: Pay at the administrative cashier (1F) or use the payment kiosk.
- Medical fees are not eligible for point rewards from cashless payments.

- Payments can be made by credit or debit cards.
- When discharging, please settle bills on the same day.
- There is an ATM in the convenience store (B1F).
Doctor’s Note/Certificate
We can provide a doctor’s note, written opinion, or life insurance medical certificate at the Documentation Reception Counter (1F).
If you need a doctor’s note, written opinion, or life insurance medical certificate, apply at the Documentation Reception Counter (1F) in-person during the following hours.
Note: If patients cannot come in-person due to distance, applications may be accepted by post.
All postage fees will be borne by the patient.
