We asked some of our staff to show us the things they normally carry around. What kind of jobs do they have?
Answer: Speech-language-hearing therapist
Speech-language-hearing therapists specialize in treating speech disorders, hearing disorders, speech and pronunciation disorders, as well as eating and swallowing problems. Essential equipment includes a nasal speculum (the square mirror in the bottom row of the photo) to check whether air is leaking from the nose when speaking, and a thickener (the yellow stick in the top row of the photo) to adjust the speed at which food flows through.
