Previous training session
The Medical Research Institute Kitano Hospital, a public interest incorporated foundation run by the Tatsuno Kofukai Foundation, will be conducting a large-scale disaster response drill on Sunday, October 19, 2025, simulating a Nankai Trough earthquake, in order to contribute to the local community by fulfilling its role as a medical facility with disaster response capabilities in the event of an emergency.
Our hospital is located in the heart of Kita-ku, Osaka City, with the Yodo River to the north and many large buildings such as buildings and apartments nearby, so in the unlikely event of a major earthquake, we as a medical facility will be required to respond in a variety of ways. For this reason, our hospital has been conducting large-scale disaster response drills since 2013, and has decided to continue with a large-scale disaster response drill from last year, with the aim of "creating an organization that can contribute to the community" as a medical facility in Kita-ku, Osaka City that has disaster response capabilities.
In this training, students from Yukioka Medical Technology College (Kita-ku, Osaka), a school corporation run by Yukioka Health and Hygiene Academy, also located in Kita-ku, Osaka, participated and cooperated by playing the role of patients. By giving this experience to not only our hospital staff but also the students who will be the leaders of the next generation, we hope to work together as a community to improve our disaster response standards.
