The Department of Neurosurgery at Medical Research Institute Kitano Hospital published a paper in World Neurosurgery in October 2023 on the usefulness of the exoscopic surgery it uses. Furthermore, in January 2024, a video of our hospital's exoscopic surgery for hemifacial spasm and trigeminal neuralgia was featured as a "high-profile paper" in the video journal Neurological Focus, the journal of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the most prestigious organization in North America.

This paper reports that endoscopic surgery for facial spasms and trigeminal neuralgia places less physical strain on patients, produces clear surgical images, and is comparable in effectiveness and safety to conventional microsurgery.
