On Saturday, December 9, 2023, a "Medical Relief Activities Training at Disaster Shelters" was held at Ogimachi Elementary School in the ward by the Kita Ward Office of Osaka City and the Kita Ward Medical Association of Osaka City. Several staff members from our hospital participated, including a doctor who is qualified as a member of AMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team as designated by the All Japan Hospital Association).
Assuming that an earthquake with a maximum seismic intensity of 6+ had occurred in the Osaka city area during the day on a weekday, our hospital acted as a medical relief team dispatched by the medical association to check various coordination measures at evacuation centers and how to respond to injured and sick people (triage, etc.).
On October 15th of this year, our hospital conducted a disaster response drill jointly with Yukioka Medical Technology College, simulating a major earthquake along the Nankai Trough, and is working to become a core hospital in the region equipped with disaster response capabilities (*Reference: Press release issued on October 6, 2023).
We will continue to make further efforts to improve the level of disaster prevention response in the entire region.
