Friday, February 12, 2021, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial SurgeryMasaru TakahashiA research group led by the chief director (Associate Professor, Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University) held a press conference on tooth regeneration, which is expected to be useful in treating conditions such as congenital edentulism.

In experiments using mice and ferrets, we discovered an antibody that neutralizes the protein that inhibits tooth development, and successfully induced tooth development. We hope to proceed with clinical trials aimed at applying this to humans.
