The NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) is a ward that provides 24-hour care for babies born prematurely, babies who require surgery shortly after birth, and babies who require treatment for infectious diseases.
The efforts being made at Kitano Hospital's NICU during the COVID-19 pandemic were featured on NHK's "News Hot Kansai" on Friday, September 25th.
In order to allow families to see how their babies are doing even during the visitation restrictions, our hospital is implementing an initiative in which doctors and nurses take videos and photos of the babies and provide the data to families.
This time, NHK interviewed us and shared the voices of babies who have graduated from our NICU and their families.
It is also being broadcast to the world on NHK World, so please be sure to check it out.
