organ disorders (KRCMNSM) |
| Our division is focused on the research of neurological
diseases (cerebrovascular disease, neurodegenerative disease,
brain and spinal tumor, hydrocephalus etc.), otolaryngological
disorders (cervical tumor, auditory system disorder etc.), ophthalmological
disorders (retina and optic nerve disorders etc.), and mental
disorders. The researchers consist of professional board members
of neurology, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology and
psychiatry, including visiting research fellows. Our research
environment is rich enough to pursue not only basic medical
study with animal and cell culture models, but also neuropathological
research using electron microscopy. Clinical research is also
active and diverse, which includes deep brain electrical stimulation
related to Parkinsonfs disease treatment, study of artificial
inner ear devices, biochemical and electrophysiological study
of ophthalmologic disorders, and a study of classical neuropsychiatric
diseases. The ultimate goal of our study is to solve the problems
from patients by using fundamental scientific techniques and
return our results to the patient. |
